0

Shaun Clarida is the 2022 212 Olympia champion. The 2022 Olympia pre-judging offered a potential showdown between a pair of 212 Olympia champions in Clarida (2020) and Kamal Elgargni (2019). As the competition and division moved toward the Finals on Friday night, the last two at the end of the round squared off once again on the Las Vegas, NV, stage. Clarida would prevail to reclaim the championship and add another trophy to his mantel.

Here are the top five athletes in the 212 division at the 2022 Mr. Olympia and the respective prize money they earned:

Shaun Clarida: $50,000 | 2022 212 Olympia Champion
Angel Calderon Frias: $20,000
Kamal Elgargni: $10,000
Ahmad Ashkanani: $6,000
Oleh Kryvyi: $4,000

In getting the ball rolling on 2022 Olympia victors, Shaun Clarida has won his second 212 Olympia in the last three years. The achievement might be more notable considering there were rumors that Clarida would be seeking a transition to the Men’s Open division at the 2022 Olympia. He ultimately stuck with the 212 because he had “unfinished business.” That business, with another 212 Olympia title in hand, has now likely concluded for the champion bodybuilder.
